Design & Innovation Management Internship

Park Europe GmbH

Hamburg, Deutschland

PARK is a leading consultancy in the area of Design Management & Leadership, with offices in Hamburg and Santa Monica. For more than 20 years, we have been supporting design, brand and business leaders. We increase the value of design for organisations by further building design competence and capabilities. We operate globally, in all industries and across many areas of Design and Innovation. Valued and long-term relationships enable us to guide our clients strategically while building open and honest collaborations that create significant business impact. Our clients are industry leaders like Unilever, GSK, COTY, Kvadrat, B&O, Miele, WMF and LEGO.

With Grow, we educate tomorrow’s design leaders through a blend of practical learning modules driven by our consultants, and all supported by cutting-edge content and an advanced online system.

We are looking for an exceptional new member to be part of our team in Hamburg as soon as possible. You will be mainly working on PARK content but might input and feedback into Grow content as well. The minimum duration of an internship at PARK is 6 months. Due to the complexity of the job, longer stays are welcome.

The main purpose of your role as an intern at PARK will be to support the PARK consultants in their daily job, ranging from client projects to internal initiatives for our own business. This requires you to create and manage content based on specific guidelines and briefings of consultants. By joining multiple projects and collaborating with different people inside and outside our team, we encourage you to find your own individual spot to grow further in the four areas of our Design Management & Leadership framework:

Design Vision & Strategy
Design Process & Tools
Design Structure & Organisation
Design People & Culture
Carrying an independent and pro-active attitude, you will be happy to thrive in a team that is giving you a lot of freedom and own responsibility. To bring greatest value both for our team and our clients, we look for great communication and visualization skills with a clear focus on structured working methods and a broad understanding of the many different facets of today’s design world. Our ideal candidate has a heart for design but wants to broaden her or his mindset in a con- sultancy environment that seeks to embed Design Management & Design Leadership into larger organizations.

PARK offers a dedicated and ambitious team of individuals who are passionate about design and its successful connection with the business. We like to push the boundaries and empower our clients to do the same. We are empathic to our client’s needs, challenges and ambitions and appreciate personal and trustworthy collaborations. Being patient but persistent, we aim for sustainable and long-term effects on our clients, their design teams and the bigger context of their organizations.

Working with us, you will be exposed to many different clients and projects. This will give you a unique chance to broaden your perspective on the interface between design and business.

Turn verbal input from consultants into high quality and comprehensive visual material for our clients (e.g. post- ers, presentations, workshop output etc.)
Perform administrative project management tasks - up to taking over smaller communication with clients,/li>
Conducting Design Management & Leadership research and benchmarks
Support the team with marketing and acquisition activities
Create internal and external material (e.g. acquisition material or project summaries)

In order to support our team with a fresh and ambitious mind, you should bring along the following capabilities:

Curious beyond design: Willing to learn how businesses and brands work, including corporate environments, business strategies and ambitions.
People oriented, combined with high standard of service and quality: Understand that part of your profession is to make the life of the consultants and our clients more easy (and sometimes also more fun)
Strong visualization skills: Ability to pack thoughts and ideas into visually appealing and comprehensive presentations.
Strong communicator: Be able and enthusiastic to articulate your ideas, feelings and thoughts in a constructive and respectful way (that also means to challenge us in projects or our daily routine)
Problem solver: Be a true optimist with a hands on ‘can-do’ attitude.
Adaptable: Act as a versatile and flexible individual who likes to take different roles and evolving responsibilities in our team.
Structured & self-organized: That means you can independently manage multiple & fast changing projects with care and an attention to details.

We look for a bachelor or master graduate or undergraduate in Industrial Design (or related), Design Strategy or Design Management. Also studies such as Innovation Management are welcome but require a strong understand- ing of design. Working experience is a must have but doesn’t have to be design related.

We’re always open to create a future for great candidates. Depending on your own ambition and development, you will have the chance to further develop into a Trainee or Junior Consultant.
